Frequently Asked Questions

When will my edit be started?

Ann's schedule is subject to change, and different times of the year can be busier than others, but normally she will be able to start your edit/critique a few weeks from the time your agreement is made.

How long will it take to be completed?

The edit or critique is usually completed about two weeks after the start date.

What is the payment policy?

Payments are made in advance, and usually Ann splits the overall cost into three payments.  She accepts personal checks, cashier's or certified checks, and Zelle payments.

Will I sign a contract?

You will be asked to sign a basic service agreement.

What can I expect once the editing process has begun?

Ann will send an update about halfway through the edit, but she is happy to send updates more often at the client's request.

What happens after the edit?

For all developmental edits and critiques, Ann will reread the parts of the book that a client has significantly changed after the edit has been completed.  She asks authors to highlight new and/or changed areas as they revise.  If a client wants a reread of the entire piece after their revision is complete, there is a charge, but it is less than the cost of the first edit.
